Kitō-ryū Jūjutsu (起倒流柔術) is one of the origins of Kōdōkan Jūdō (講道館柔道).
In the 'Bugei Ryūha Daijiten', Watatani and Yamada (1978) record the Kitō-ryū (起倒流), as having the following elements within its curriculum:
* Jū 柔(pliability)
* Kabuto 兜 (helmet)
* Kumiuchi 組打(battlefield grappling)
* lai 居合 (sword drawing)
* Bo 棒 (six foot staff)
* Tachi 太刀 (long battlefield sword)
* Jinren 陣鎌 (battle camp sickle)
Note - Jinren (陣鎌) is the 'On', or older reading of 'kama',
So, I was interested to obtain a Japanese book (as below) called - 'Sakurai-chō no bō no te' (桜井町の棒の手 Sakurai Town 'bō' stick technique), which featured "Kitō-ryū no bō no te" (起倒流の棒の手 Kitō-ryū 'bō' stick techniques).
