Thank you to 'Japan Virtual Learning' for these photos and information on the Yōseikan (養正館) in Shizuoka (静岡市), which is now taught at the Budō Gakunan Juku (武道岳南塾 martial arts south peak school)
The Yōseikan (養正館) was founded in 1931 by Mochizuki Minoru Sensei (望月 稔 先生), who had been a senior student of both Ueshiba Morihei Ō-Sensei (植芝 盛平 大先生) - the founder of Aikidō) and Kanō Jigorō Sensei (嘉納 治五郎 先生) - the founder of Jūdō. Mochizuki Minoru Sensei grades were as follows: 10th dan in Aikido, 9th dan in Jujutsu, 8th dan in Iaido, 8th dan in Judo, 8th dan in Kobudo, 5th dan in Kendo, 5th dan in Karate, and a 5th dan in Jojutsu.
I was fortunate to visit and train under Mochizuki Minoru Sensei at the original Yōseikan Hombu dōjō (養正館本部道場) in 1981.
Mochizuki Minoru Sensei passed away in 2003 and the Yōseikan organisation passed to his son Mochizuli Hiroo Sensei (望月拡雄 先生), who lives in France. I was fortunate to train under, the also very talented, Mochizuli Hiroo Sensei (望月拡雄先生) and his students both in the U.K. and in France.
Unfortunately, the old After the original Yōseikan Hombu dōjō was apprently sold in 2006, but Yōseikan (養正館) martial arts are now taught at the Budō Gakunan Juku.
